New 2011 IN HAND SHOW HUNTER PONIES Judge: Miss S Fitt - Maidenhead Berks Judging Commences: 10.30 a.m. Wednesday 29th June - Glaven Ring Conditions: (i) Classes are held under N.P.S. Rules. Ponies must be registered in the N.P.S. British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register or Appendix, the GSB, the AHSB, the AASB or in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Parts breds are not eligible unless entered in the NPS British Riding Pony Stud Book, Register or Appendix. Ponies must be plaited. Qualifying rounds are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non- members but only ponies owned by adult NPS members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition. First and second prize winners from each class to compete in the Championship. (ii) The Show is a qualifying round for the NPS/Roseberry Stud Show Hunter Pony In Hand Championship. The Champion and Reserve Champion go forward to the Final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. Where these ponies have already qualified, the pony standing next in line, which is owned by an NPS member and has not already qualified, receives the qualification. Qualifications may go no lower than third place. Judges and/or stewards are asked to check membership cards prior to presenting the qualifying rosettes. NPS Adult/Standard members will be required to update to Adult/Showing to enter the Final. Foals are not eligible for this Championship. (iii) NPS/Bankswood Stud Show Hunter Pony In Hand Silver Medal Rosette A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony in the Show Hunter Pony In-Hand section. To be judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the owner of the Champion pony is a member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the handler's possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the owner of the Champion pony is not a member, or the owner's membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion, provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified, it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the owner of that pony is a Member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than First Reserve. Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show 4-6 August 2011.
