& COLNE MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND LEADING REIN CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFYING ROUNDS 2012

Judging Commences: 14:30 Wednesday 27th June - Wensum Ring.

Conditions:
(i) The following class is a qualifier for the Brineton/Kare-Plus Mountain & Moorland First Ridden Pony of the Year Championship, N.E.C., Birmingham, 3rd - 7th October 2012. This class is open to Mountain and Moorland Mares and Geldings four years old and over registered in the main body of their respective Stud Books. Ponies not to exceed 128cm (12.2hh). Riders must have attained their 3rd and not have attained their 12th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. The highest placed pony not already qualified from the first three will qualify to compete at the Horse of the Year Show 2012. Owners must be members of their respective Breed Society, NPS, Ponies (UK) OR BSPS. Part breds are not eligible. REGISTRATION NUMBERS MUST BE QUOTED ON ENTRY FORM
(ii) The following class is a qualifier for the Colne Mountain & Moorland Leading Rein Pony of the Year Championship, N.E.C., Birmingham, 3rd - 7th October 2012. This class is open to Mountain and Moorland Mares and Geldings four years old and over registered in the main body of their respective Stud Books. Ponies not to exceed 122cm (12.0hh). Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday but must not have attained their 9th birthday before the 1st January in the current year. The highest placed pony not already qualified from the first three will qualify to compete at the Horse of the Year Show 2012. Owners must be members of their respective Breed Society, NPS, Ponies (UK) OR BSPS.
(iii) Classes are held under N.P.S. Rules. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non members but only ponies owned by adult NPS Full, Life or Standard members are eligible to qualify for
the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern from 1st-3rd August 2012.
The highest placed pony owned by an NPS member in each class will qualify for the
final. Where this pony has already qualified the pony standing next in line which is owned by an NPS member and has not already qualified receives the qualification. Qualification may go no lower than 3rd place. Judges and/or stewards will check membership cards prior to presenting the qualifying rosettes and cards. NPS Standard members will be required to upgrade to Full membership to enter the final.
NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship - Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These ponies, if owned by NPS members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show.
(iv) Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland
Stud Books. Part breds are not eligible. REGISTRATION NUMBERS MUST BE QUOTED ON ENTRY FORM.
(v) Classes are held under N.P.S. Rules and to be run under the rules of the Horse of the Year Show. Copies can be obtained from www.hoys.co.uk
Judges may only judge one qualifying competition in the current year. Marks to be awarded 50/50. In the event of equality, the pony with the highest Show/Freedom of Action mark will be deemed the winner. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show Office.
The First Ridden and Lead Rein Classes are qualifying competitions for the Horse of the Year Show Mountain & Moorland Brineton/Kare-Plus First Ridden and Colne Leading Rein Championship 2012.
(vi) 1st, 2nd & 3rd places (not already qualified) from Classes 85 & 86 will qualify. Ponies that qualify to the Championship at Horse of the year Show 2012 must hold a valid JMB Full Height or Annual Certificate, a copy of which must be enclosed at the time of entry to Horse of the Year Show, JMB certificates are not required to enter this qualifier.
(vii) This Show, Class 85, is a qualifier for the P (UK) Brineton Mountain and Moorland First Ridden Summer Championship. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each qualifying class will qualify. No qualification cards will be awarded in the ring, placing will be confirmed by results sent in by the show secretary. Non Members have 14 days to register with Ponies (UK) following the Show.
(viii) This Show, Class 86, is a qualifier for the Ponies (UK) Lobster Pot Mountain and Moorland Lead Rein Summer Championship. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd in each qualifying class will qualify. No qualification cards will be awarded in the ring, placing will be confirmed by results sent in by the show secretary. Non Members have 14 days to register with Ponies (UK) following the Show.
(ix) These classes are qualifiers for the B.S.P.S. Summer Championship - The Black Country Saddles Best Rider and the BSPS "Classic Security UK Ltd Challenge"

(x) Split Classes
1. Where there are more than 20 entries forward in a class, the judges may split the class into sections according to the circumstances on the day.
2. Each section must be marked and the top five ponies with the highest marks should go forward to a final judging. The marks are not to be displayed at this point and no rosettes awarded.
3. For the final judging the top ponies should be invited back into the ring and lined up in any order. No further show will be given.
4. The judges should then refer to their original marks. In the case of equality the pony with the highest show, freedom and action mark will be deemed the winner. If there still be equality at this point, then the judges' decision will be final.
5. The highest placed animal (not already qualified) from the first three in the final judging will qualify for Horse of the Year Show subject to verification of qualification from the Horse of the Year Show Office
