HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW NPS/BAILEYS HORSE FEEDS MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND RIDDEN PONY CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER 2013 Judges: Non Welsh Conformation Mrs A J C Campbell - Kent - Cruachan Stud Ridden Mrs Bryer - Somerset - Harroway Stud Welsh A & B Conformation Mrs G Sells - Shropshire - Priestwood Stud Ridden Mr K Walker - Flintshire - Brynoffa Stud Welsh C & D Conformation Mr R Howard - Buckinghamshire - Moorcroft Stud Ridden Mrs S Charlton - Carms - Joyton Stud Championship Mr P Boustead - Lancashire - Summerhouse Stud Medal Mrs G Sells - Shropshire - Priestwood Stud Judging Commences: All sections will be judged on Thursday 27th June Welsh A & B - Classes 107 - 108- Wensum Ring A - 13:00 Welsh C & D - Classes 109 - 110 - Wensum Ring B - 13:00 Non Welsh - Classes 103 - 106 - Ivan Cooke Ring - 13:15 Medal - C44 and S24 - Ivan Cooke Ring - 16:15 Conditions: (i) Classes 103 - 110 are qualifiers for the NPS/Baileys Horse Feed Ridden Mountain & Moorland Pony of the Year Championship, N.E.C., Birmingham, 9th - 13th October 2013. This competition is open to stallions, mares and geldings, four years old and over, to be registered in the main body of their respective stud books. Part-breds and mares with a living foal born during the current season are not eligible to compete. To be run as follows: The highest placed horse/pony (not already qualified) from the first three in Classes 103 - 110 will qualify for the NPS/Baileys Horse Feeds Ridden Mountain & Moorland Pony of the Year. A. New Forest B. Connemara C. Fell, Highland & Dales D. Dartmoor, Exmoor & Shetland E. Welsh Section A F. Welsh Section B G. Welsh Section C H. Welsh Section D (ii) All Shetland Pony classes are restricted to Registered SPSBS Ponies only. Children under 14 yeas old may not show colts (excluding foals) or entire males in these classes. (iii) This Show, Class C44, is a qualifier for the P (UK) Kingsford M & M Ridden Pony of The Year Championship. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd will qualify. No qualification cards will be awarded in the ring, placing will be confirmed by results sent in by the show secretary. Non Members have 14 days to register with Ponies (UK) following the Show. (iv) Judges may only judge one Horse of the Year Show M&M Ridden qualifying competition during the current year and marks must be awarded as follows: Show/Freedom of Action Maximum 50 Breed Type/Conformation Maximum 50 (v) Riders can be of any age with the exception of those riding stallions who must have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January in the current year. Correct riding attire must be worn, spurs are not allowed and whips must not exceed 30". Riders and/or Owners in cases of a junior member being the rider must be members of their respective Breed Society, NPS, Ponies (UK), The Showing Register OR BSPS (vi) S24 is a qualifier for the NPS M&M Ridden Sliver Medal Rosette Championship sponsored by THE MINNS. (vii) Split Classes 1. Where there are more than 20 entries forward in a class, the judges may split the class into sections according to the circumstances on the day. 2. Each section must be marked and the top five ponies with the highest marks should go forward to a final judging. The marks are not to be displayed at this point and no rosettes awarded. 3. For the final judging the top ponies should be invited back into the ring and lined up in any order. No further show will be given. 4. The judges should then refer to their original marks. In the case of equality the pony with the highest show, freedom and action mark will be deemed the winner. If there still be equality at this point, then the judges' decision will be final. (viii) The highest placed animal (not already qualified) from the first three in the final judging will qualify for Horse of the Year Show, subject to verification of qualification from the Horse of the Year Show Office. (ix) For classes that are not split, rosettes to 10th place should be awarded. Prize money to be awarded at your own discretion but in a realistic proportion to your entry fee please. In the event of equality, the pony with the highest Show/Freedom of Action mark will be deemed the winner. (x) Please note: Ponies must not exceed the height limits as stipulated by the relevant Breed Societies. Ponies that qualify for this Championship at Horse of the Year Show 2013 must hold a valid JMB Full Height or Annual Certificate, a copy of which must be enclosed at the time of entry to Horse of the Year Show. JMB certificates are not required to enter this qualifier.
