RIDDEN HEAVY HORSE CLASS ___________________________________________________________________________________ NEW FOR 2016 This Show is a Horse of the Year Show Qualifier (HOYS) for the British Ridden Heavy Horse Championship 2016 ___________________________________________________________________________________ This Show is a Qualifier for the British Ridden Heavy Horse Society at Equifest Section Judge Class/es Ring Day Time Conf. Ride Mr Dennis Hayter - Essex Mr Simon Somers - Cambridgeshire 45 Ivan Cooke W 07:30 Entry Fee: £30.00 (Inc. VAT) per entry. (Please note: Includes HOYS contribution of £12 in addition to entry fee of £18.) Prizes: 1st £15, 2nd £12, 3rd £8 and 4th £5. Rosettes: 1st to 4th rosettes and cards. Premium: No premiums will be awarded in this section. Conditions: (i) This class is open to purebred mares, geldings and stallions, 4 years old or over, that are registered in the main British Stud Books of the Shire, Suffolk, Clydesdale or Percheron Horse Societies. Partbreds are not eligible to compete. (ii) All Riders and Owners must be Members of either The Shire Horse Society, The Suffolk Horse Society, The Clydesdale Horse Society or the British Percheron Horse Society. (iii) Riders of stallions must have attained their 16th birthday before 1st January in the current year. (iv) This class will be run in accordance with the British Ridden Heavy Horse Society however the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook will take precedence, a copy of which can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk. (v) Horses should be turned out in a traditional manner as per their breed society rule. Flights/standings are not permitted. (vi) Judge WILL ride. Horses will judged at walk, trot, canter and will be required to gallop. (vii) Conformation judge will be selected from one of the main heavy horse breed panels and the Ride judge will be selected from the British Show Horse Association (BSHA) full judge's panel only. (viii) 50 marks maximum will be awarded for Ride and 50 marks maximum will be awarded for breed type and confirmation. In the case of equality the horse with the highest conformation mark will be deemed the winner. If there is still equality at this point, then the Judges' decision will be final. (ix) Exhibitors must wear and have securely fastened Riding Hats conforming to current safety standards whilst on the Showground at all times. (x) Suitable riding attire must be worn. (xi) Blinkers are optional. Qualifiers: (xii) Horse of the Year Show. This class is a qualifying class for Horse of the Year Show at NEC Birmingham, 5-9 October 2016. Qualification will not pass below 5th place. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show office. (xiii) Kilmannan. Qualification to be awarded no lower than 3rd place in the event of the winning horse having already qualified. Qualifying horse entitled to compete in the final of the Kilmannan Ridden Heavy Horse Championship to be held at Equifest on Saturday 20 August, 2016. Class |
