Conditions:
(i) Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part-breds are not eligible. REGISTRATION NUMBERS MUST BE QUOTED ON ENTRY FORM.
(ii) These classes to be run in accordance with the general rules as set out in the Horse of the Year Show rulebook. Copies can be downloaded from www.hoys.co.uk
(iii) Ponies that qualify for this Championship at Horse of the Year Show 2016 must hold a valid JMB Full Height or Annual Certificate, a copy of which must be enclosed at the time of entry to Horse of the Year Show. JMB certificates are not required to enter this qualifier.
(iv) Judges may only judge one qualifying competition in the current year.
Marks to be awarded as follows: Show, Freedom of Action - 50 points maximum. Breed type and conformation - 50 points maximum. In the case of equality, the pony with the highest Show, Freedom of Action mark will be deemed the winner. If there is still equality at this point, then the Judge's decision is final. Qualification will not pass below third place. Qualification will be verified by the Horse of the Year Show Office.
Qualifiers:
(v) HOYS. The First Ridden and Lead Rein Classes are qualifying competitions for the Horse of the Year Show Brineton/Kare-Plus Mountain & Moorland First Ridden and Colne Mountain & Moorland Lead Rein Championship 2016. The highest placed pony (not already qualified) from the first three places, from classes 102 & 103 will qualify.
(vi) HOYS. This Show, Class 102 is a qualifier for the Brineton/Kare Plus Mountain & Moorland First Ridden Pony of the Year Championship, Horse of the Year Show, NEC Birmingham 5-9 October 2016. This class is open to Mountain and Moorland Mares and Geldings four years old and over registered in the main body of their respective Stud Books. Ponies not to exceed 128cm. Riders must have attained their 3rd and not have attained their 12th birthday before the 1 January in the current year. The highest placed pony not already qualified from the first three will qualify to compete at the Horse of the Year Show 2016. Owners and riders must be members of their respective Breed Society, NPS, Ponies (UK), The Showing Register (TSR) OR BSPS.
(vii) HOYS. This Show, Class 103 is a qualifier for the Colne Mountain & Moorland Lead Rein Pony of the Year Championship, Horse of the Year Show, NEC Birmingham 5-9 October 2016. This class is open to Mountain and Moorland Mares and Geldings four years old and over registered in the main body of their respective Stud Books. Ponies not to exceed 122cm (12.0hh). Riders must have attained their 3rd birthday on the day of the competition but must not have attained their 9th birthday before the 1 January in the current year. The highest placed pony not already qualified from the first three will qualify to compete at the Horse of the Year Show 2016. Owners and riders must be members of their respective Breed Society, NPS, Ponies (UK), The Showing Register (TSR) OR BSPS.
(viii) PONIES (UK). This Show, Class 102, is a qualifier for the Ponies (UK) Brineton Mountain and Moorland First Ridden Supreme Championship 2016. 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed competitors in each qualifying class will qualify for the 2016 Ponies(UK) Supreme Summer Finals and BSPA Finals plus the Ponies (UK) 2017 Winter Classic. Qualification tickets will be awarded in the ring to qualifying competitors. Placings will be confirmed by results sent in by the Show Secretary. Competitors in qualifying positions are NOT required to become Ponies (UK) members in order to enter the Ponies (UK) Championship Finals.
(ix) PONIES (UK). This Show, Class 103 is a qualifier for the Ponies (UK) Lobster Pot Mountain and Moorland Lead Rein Supreme Championship 2016. 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed competitors in each qualifying class will qualify for the 2016 Ponies(UK) Supreme Summer Finals and BSPA Finals plus the Ponies (UK) 2017 Winter Classic. Qualification tickets will be awarded in the ring to qualifying competitors. Placings will be confirmed by results sent in by the Show Secretary. Competitors in qualifying positions are NOT required to become Ponies (UK) members in order to enter the Ponies (UK) Championship Finals.
(x) BSPS Challenge. Open classes are qualifiers for the BSPS Summer Championship - The Black Country Saddles Best Rider and the BSPS Classic Security UK Ltd Challenge. In order to qualify for BSPS Summer Championship riders must be 5 years old or over.
(xi) BSPS Heritage. The 1st placed ponies from classes 102 and 103 will qualify for the BSPS Heritage Industrial Salt Supplies WOW FACTOR (Winner of Winners) at the BSPS Summer Championship Show 24-27 August 2016.
(xii) NPS Qualifying Rounds. These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part breds are NOT eligible. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members, but only ponies owned by adult NPS Qualifying or Life members are eligible to qualify for the final of the competition at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern from 2-4 August 2016.
The highest placed pony, if owned by an NPS member, in each class will qualify for the final. Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified.
NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship - Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These ponies, if owned by NPS members, are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show. The Owner's Membership cards MUST be produced in the ring when requested or the qualification will be forfeit.
(xiii) WPCS. This is a Welsh Pony and Cob Society (WPCS) Performance Sire Ratings Show.
